Five minutes after Kid #2 got out of the bath, she ran outside to play with her big brother. Then she came in with this cute little guy and asked if we could keep him.
"No. He'll die just like all the other creatures you attempt to keep." I know, I'm a mean mommy. Get over it.
She stomped out the side door.
I hope she returned him to the woods. I was too busy laughing at her tantrum to follow her out.
After she'd finally had enough time with "Newty", she came inside and said, "I have to wash my hands. I have to wash my hands. Do newts pee on you?"
I love being a mom, and I love living in the woods!

That is so precious
ReplyDeleteThank you. :-) She's a cutie pie!
DeleteNice. LOL My kids love to find all kinds of things and try to bring them home. They have learned the hard way it doesn't work. Cute story.
ReplyDeleteYeah. She brought a caterpillar home and put him in the terrarium with the turtle. There were only green, fuzzy remains the next day.
DeleteShe is a trip!! Hopefully she doesn't begin to bring home stray animals! Newts were always a favorite in our family to catch.
ReplyDeleteShe better NOT!
DeleteMean mommy maybe, but you're a good nature steward when you don't let kids bring stuff home. ;) When my kids were little, I liked to remind them that they wouldn't be very happy if someone thought they were cute, plucked them up and away from their homes and family, and took them far away somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very good explanation! :-) Cute. I do not like when little creatures come in my house and die. Makes me very sad!
DeleteWe found a salamander last year and it was really cool (except VERY wriggly.)
ReplyDeleteNewty is lovely!
Hubby is 53 and he sets out a saucer of water for any gecko that gets in the house and eludes capture. Poor thing might get thirsty.
