Firework!

My children love to sing. I'm not sure where they inherited this from *clears throat* but they certainly enjoy belting out lyrics to the same song every single day. Yes, currently Katy Perry's Firework loops on my iPod during our drive home from Hell . .  . I mean work.

Surprisingly, Kid #2 knows all the words. I've been meaning to record her while she sings, but something tells me she'd shut right up.

Anyway, because the meaning of the song is awesome, and because I've been a bad blogger—and I'm going to keep it up until the first draft of Wilde's Meadow is finished—I'll leave you with a song . . . .

Can you guess which one it will be??

Yep!

Do your kids have any songs they love listening to on repeat?

  2. My son is 24, but when he was a kid, his favorite band was Aerosmith, and his favorite song was Eat the Rich. Personally it wasn't mine, but he played it over and over and had to have it on in the car ... maybe there was a bad word in it, can't remember. Anyway, he listens to country now, and I have NO idea why :/

    1. Haha. COUNTRY? I like some songs, but I really cannot do country. However, I do listen to a variety of music. I can't tell you any specific genre because there is none. ;-)

  3. My 9-year-old loves anything with a good beat to it, but my 4-year-old is very particular. He wants something with great guitar and drum solos, every time.

    1. Sounds like he's gonna be a rock star! I love drums and instrumentals. I just love music, but Firework is getting a teensy bit old.

  4. My daughter loves this song! In fact, when she and her daddy were playing school, she made up a worksheet with only one question: "Did you ever feel like a plastic bag, blowing in the wind?"

    Ms Perry is amazing.

    1. Oh, I have a few songs I can listen to on repeat, but Kid #2 literally asks every time we get in the car.

Yep. I hear a lot of the same songs over and over again. Nothing as cool as that though. ;)

    1. Cool comes with its issues though. Apparently she knows some of the words to Last Friday Night. So I listened to them...OMG!
