Do Snakes Make You Shudder? #wildesarmy #sixsunday

First.... Happy Release Day to me. Happy Release Day to me. Happy Release Day to meee, -- Hey, did you catch that? It's Wilde's Fire's release day! I'll post some official links later, but for now, on with Six Sunday!

If you've followed my blog for a while, you know I don't like creepy crawlies. Snakes, spiders, scorpions--seems like anything with an 's' scares me--these are just a few of the creatures I've encountered. So, it only makes sense to share a scene between Kate and Perth where they encounter some creepy crawlies of their own . . . .

Enjoy!

~"While we would be guarded against anything getting in, we are not guarded if the animals get loose and run out. If that were to happen, our position could be compromised. If daemons discovered us here, we would be trapped . . . unless you wanted to use the river, but I do not believe either of us would enjoy swimming in that," he says, giving the river a fearful glance.

"What's in the river?" I follow his gaze to the water barely visible through the blanket of Darkness.

"Serpents."~

Can we all say shudder? That's what Perth did as he said that. He's not talking about little water snakes either! :-)

  1. Congratulations Krystal! And Happy Mother's day; in more ways than one since you're releasing another "baby" out into the world today. I'm so proud of you and I'm glad to say I knew you back when. ;) You are a very tenacious, determined, amazing woman and I can tell you're a wonderful mother as well. Can't wait to get my hands on a copy of Wilde's Fire. Its hard reading on my little bitty phone screen.

  4. Happy release day!!!! -throws confetti and passes out cake-

You know, I don't have an issue with snakes...most of the time. Somehow though, in the wild and with him calling them 'serpents'...I'm thinking they're scarier than normal snakes.

  5. I don't like snakes or any critters of any kind! Yuck! Spiders don't bother me, but pretty much anything else and I'm out.
Congrats on your release day, Krystal! Wishing you all the best!

  6. Yeah, I'm with you--all things creepy crawly? I'm out. I would do any and all that I could to avoid the river. You made me shudder just imagining a river full of them. Ick. Good imagery, bad feeling. And super congratulations on your release!

  14. Happy Release Day, Krystal, and Happy Mother's Day to whom it applies. I have to say, I LOVE snakes, and hunt for them every summer to play with...seriously, but don't get me near any creepy crawleys, especially spiders. I could have a heart attack and die of fright.
